他鄉復行役，
駐馬別孤墳。
近淚無乾土，

Far from home 
with farther still to travel

I stop my horse
beside this lonely grave

the earth is wet
as if from recent weeping

the low sky
is full of broken clouds

the two of us used to play weiqi
unruffled by bad news

but I have come too late
to present you with my sword

there's nothing here to see
but blossoms falling in the forest

nothing to hear but the song of an oriole
sending me on my way.
